On the sixth day God created the first family
The Sixth Day Family
Hello,
My name is Amanda. I am writing this blog because I have a passion for helping families and friends build meaningful relationships that will last a lifetime. I am a Christian, a wife, a mother, and a friend. I believe that God did not just make Adam and Eve on the sixth day of creation, rather He made the first family. God did not make us as humans to be alone, He made us be be in community and fellowship with one another. This is shown in multiple places throughout the Bible beginning on the sixth day of creation when God said it was not good for man to be alone so he created woman to be his partner and He commanded them to be fruitful and multiply, He also shows this in the Gospels with Jesus and his relationship with His disciples as His close friends. We were not created to spend all day in front of screens on social media that does nothing but make us more antisocial, we were created to be together engaged in conversation, and activity, and life. This is not just true in the Bible, it is proven true with science, we need community and we thrive when we have secure attachments from infancy up through adulthood.
Having meaningful relationships with others helps us to have an improved mental state and that contributes to us developing grit and resilience. So God did not only call us to building meaningful relationships, He literally made us for it. In this blog I will share my research with you and my best advice for fostering the development of these relationships with your spouse, children, parents, siblings, all other extended family, and friends. I will include references to articles and books in the event that something peaks your interest enough that you want to further research it, and if it seems helpful I can include how to read and analyze academic literature. I hope that I can help you grow in your relationships or start them if they are brand new, I hope to help you come out from behind your screen and live and engage in the beautiful world around us in every season of life.
Your Friend,
Amanda
